Alchemy of Hatha Yoga
A Yoga workshop with Jayadhara (Jane Cluley).
25th November, 10.00 – 4.00pm
The Alchemy of Hatha Yoga : Bringing the wisdom of ancient teachings to your practice
Alchemy is the transmutation and refining of the gross to the refined, from base metal to gold, just as our yoga journey leads us to fuller understanding of our human being-ness and refined practice.
Hatha yoga is an ancient science and art, continually evolving and developing today. We are all our own experiment – on and off the mat. Through practice, we are adjusting our personal chemistry, neurological circuits, internal rhythms and prana distribution. When we pay attention to lifestyle changes and ways of thinking we reinforce the yoga on our mat in everyday life.
We will be drawing on wisdom from Hatha Yoga Pradipika, practising asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha, yoga nidra and meditation to continue our alchemical journey and inspire more fulfilling, truthful and balanced lives.
Jayadhara (Jane Cluley) began practising yoga at university. She then trained with British Wheel of Yoga and has been teaching yoga since 1988; she is now a BWY Foundation and Diploma Course tutor.
After living and studying at the Bihar School of Yoga for several years she also has an MA in yoga philosophy. She has a particular interest in making ancient philosophy accessible to everyone and in the use of yoga for managing mental health issues.
This will be a very uplifting and informative day of yoga with a tutor who has a wealth of knowledge and a talent for expressing her teaching clearly and enjoyably.
