Lord Shiva when imparting knowledge of Mudras to the Goddess Parvarti describes mudra as that which pleases the gods and melts the mind.
The most well known and widely practised mudras are the Hasta Mudras (literally ‘hand gestures’). However, there is so much more to the practice of Mudra, ranging from very simple techniques to some which involve the whole body, breath and mind in a combination of Asana, Pranayama, Bandha (locks) and visualisation.
In this course we will explore some of the lesser known Mudras, including Kaya Mudras (literally ‘body’ or ‘postural’Â mudras), Sirsha Mudras (literally ‘head mudras’) as well as extending our range of Hasta Mudras.
Course Outline
Each week will ‘stand alone’ and will have a particular theme.- Week 1 – Aims to provide a yoga tool kit to help with stress and overload.

The sessions will be held online via Zoom. Zoom is very straight forward to use and the online platform is a particularly good medium for meditation practice; all you need is to be able to hear the verbal instructions – you won’t be peering at the screen during the classes! Everyone attending is ‘muted’ during the classes and you don’t need to be seen on screen by anyone else.
