This workshop has been very popular so we are now holding two sessions on Sunday 30th April. This second session takes place in the evening where the effects of the lighting will be enhanced.
A beautiful, balancing workshop using chanting, yoga asanas (postures), music and colours to connect with the Chakras.
This innovative exploration of the Chakras will be led by yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner Sarah Wilson, featuring experienced soulful singer Nicola Newman.
We will explore the physical and emotional aspects of each chakra through asanas, seed mantras, music and colour.
During the yoga practice, Nicola will extemporise around the chants using vocal effects to create a beautiful background of sound. The music will reflect the musical key associated with each chakra to enable participants to connect on a sonic as well as physical level.
This workshop will provide an immersive journey through the energy centres of the body and mind, enabling participants to bring awareness to their own energies and needs.
The workshop involves :
- Chanting guidance: getting the sound to vibrate and resonate through the body, as well as experimenting with silent chanting
- Guidance through the 7 main chakras, including their physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects
- Chanting the seed mantra for each chakra
- Yoga postures, with live vocals and a lighting wash to deepen connection with the chakra
- Concluding with a guided meditation through each chakra
