Yoga is the quietening of the mind to silence.

Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras I v2

The focus of this day will be ways in which we can use our Yoga practice to find harmony, space and ‘one-ness’ in the present moment.

We will explore this theme within the context of the teachings contained in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.

The day will be primarily practical, but as we go we will look at ways in which we can maintain and deepen the quality of our practice. Awareness is the key to everything we do in Yoga, it is the key to effective posture work in just the same way as it is the foundation of pranayama and meditation. We will look at ways in which we can anchor the mind and maintain a flow of awareness in our Yoga practice on the mat.

The workshop will include simple, effective Dharana (concentration / mindfulness) techniques as well as Mantra, Pranayama, Mudra and Yoga Nidra.

‘Yoga is the Quietening of the Mind to Silence’. In the present moment the mind is quiet and more peaceful. In the present moment we go to the heart of Yoga.
