Emma Parkes

Emma is a BWY (British Wheel of Yoga) teacher and has been practising yoga for nearly 20 years. The BWY is the governing body for Yoga in the UK and it’s teacher training courses are comprehensive and highly respected.

Emma’s passion for yoga was first ignited by her Nana who was a yoga teacher and taught her the benefits of yoga from a young age.

After starting regular classes at 18, Emma completed the BWY Foundation 1 course in 2012 before going on to have her two daughters.

Emma competed her two year Yoga Teaching Certificate with the BWY in 2022 and then took an extra year of training to complete the full BWY Diploma Teaching Certification in 2023. Emma currently teaches yoga to both adults and children.

As well as yoga Emma enjoys spending time outside in nature with her friends and family.

Emma’s training includes:

  • BWY Foundation 1 Course (2012)
  • 10 Month Chakra Course with Jayadhara (2013)
  • BWY Teacher Training Certificate (2022)
  • 2 day ‘Teaching Pranayama’ course with Philip Xerri (2022)
  • Training for Teachers with Peter Blackaby 6 Month Course (2024)

“ I have felt passionately about the benefits of yoga for as long as I can remember and my passion is reflected in my teaching. I strongly believe that yoga is for everyone; my classes are welcoming and inclusive and include a mixture of posture work, breath work and guided relaxation and meditation practices with a focus on deepening our connections to our body, breath, nature, and community. I also have an interest in the benefits of yoga for the menstrual cycle.”
