Emma Cocker

“I have been practising yoga since the late 1990s and have been attending yoga classes and courses by Chris Noon and Hannah Penn since the early days of Sheffield Yoga School.
A spinal injury in 2017 provided the catalyst for deepening my commitment to, understanding of and engagement with yoga by training to be a yoga teacher. Since then, I have also been gradually unlearning/relearning my relationship with yoga – letting go of what was perhaps a rather wilful attitude towards yoga practice in favour of a more mindful, enquiry-based approach focused on releasing tension and cultivating curiosity in the magic of everyday functional movement.
My yoga practice/teaching overlaps with my ongoing interests as a writer-artist – around the value of slowness, care and attention, and deep listening.”
