Caroline Skelton

“I started practising yoga as a student at the University of Sheffield. I really enjoyed the graceful movements and the focused calm of breath work and relaxation. At that time yoga was not part of the mainstream, and for me the emphasis away from performance and competition was a revelation.

Having explored different yoga styles in a variety of classes, I decided to study for a teaching diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga, first with Gillian Gee, then with Carolyn Clarke.

I started attending a regular class with Hannah Penn, then later with Chris Noon and found the Satyananda tradition most supportive to my interests and my own teaching style.

I feel fortunate to have benefited from Chris and Hannah’s teaching and the many excellent short courses and residentials they have organised in our area.

I have been teaching yoga since 2004 alongside working part-time in the NHS and bringing up my family. I have taught beginners and general classes for adults, people with ME, chair yoga, pregnancy and mother & baby yoga across a range of venues.”
