Sheffield Yoga Day : 14th February
Jayadhara : Anahata – Opening the Heart Space
The Heart Centre, known as Anahata chakra literally means ‘unstruck’ and it refers to the source of all sound and relates to the undying vibration and pulse of the universe.
Physically anahata is associated with the heart, lungs, chest, parts of the shoulders & arms, circulatory and respiratory systems. It is coupled with the air element (vayu), the sense of touch (feeling), the hands (giving and taking) and emotions raging from narrow attachments to unconditional love.
Memories stored here may be of loving / hating and lost intimacies. Rekindling love, generating compassion and releasing old hurts from anahata leads us to become more deeply loving of ourselves and others and widen our connection to the world.
We will explore anahata chakra in a very practical way using a wide variety of techniques to connect more openly with and to honour our heart as an inner teacher.
Practices will include asana, pranayama, mudra, mantra, yoga nidra and meditation.
Jayadhara (Jane Cluley) has been teaching yoga since 1988 and holds an MA in yoga philosophy.
She is a Diploma Course Tutor (yoga teacher trainer) for the British Wheel of Yoga and also teaches various courses including the BWY Foundation course; she has a particular interest in yoga for those with mental health issues.
Her teaching draws on the wisdom of the Satyananda Yoga tradition and she regularly returns to India for deeper understanding and to continue her personal development journey.
This will be a very uplifting and informative day of Yoga with a tutor who has a wealth of knowledge and a talent for expressing her teaching clearly and enjoyably.
