Re-opening our Yoga centre!
Nothing is certain at the moment … ! That said, we aim to reopen our Yoga centre for classes in September.
We have been teaching a full timetable of classes online since lockdown began and these have gone well. The way we teach and practice in this system of Yoga has transferred quite seamlessly to the online format and overall it has been a positive experience for many of us.
However, we are very much looking forward to getting back to classes in a room with other human beings!
What to expect
Obviously we are unable to go straight back to how things were before lockdown. Initially there will be a limited timetable of group classes which we will add to gradually as circumstances allow.
There will be a limit on numbers in class and we will all have to take precautions to maintain a safe environment.
Looking after each other and being aware and respectful of other people is Yoga in Action so in many ways this will enhance our practice together.
We are still working out the best way forward with all this and there will be more detail to follow nearer the time.
A few short months ago we would have been very resistant to the idea of teaching Yoga classes online.
We haven’t changed our opinion that working directly and in person with a teacher (and indeed with other people in a group) is fundamental to Yoga practice. There is something very special about a group Yoga class that can never be properly replicated online.
However, the potential for online Yoga as a tool to help maintain and grow our practice is obvious and something we intend to make full use of.
Our intention is to fully integrate our group classes with live stream classes and an extensive online library that you can access at any time.
This idea is very much in it’s infancy but we are quite excited by it already!
We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
